Music Lessons pay off

We have been helping some young people to access music lessons, especially where their learning began in Ukraine and would have been interrupted by their displacement to the UK.

Sofiia M has had the help of Karen Wimhurst for her piano lessons. Karen is a long time supporter of us in many ways and we are grateful for her support for Sofiia and for other musicians such as Marta S, an accomplished singer and member of Palida Choir.

Karen is very proud of her young Ukrainian player and appreciates the universally good training that Sofiia had before coming to the UK in June 2025.

Sofiia is a talented and confident player and performer and we know how proud this has made her Mum, her Gran and her host. We got to see her talent at an impromptu performance, part of her preparations for her Grade 3 recital. From what we heard, this should be a success!

Valeriia P has also been receiving piano lessons. She has played for us publicly before at the Kyiv City Ballet concert in October 2023 and we are delighted to celebrate with her the level 5 Music Theory test that she has just passed.
