Salisbury Races
This was a lovely day spent at one of the most attractive race courses in the UK.
Leaving at a leisurely 11.15 we were whisked by Vale Coaches to the Salisbury Races Family Fun Day.
With a theme of ‘Seaside’ the Sarum Enclosure was bustling with picnic parties, free rides and a host of catering stalls.
Horse racing up close is tremendously exhilarating with the speed of the horses, the skill of the jockeys and the beauty of the setting making this, for many, a first to remember.
The races began at 2.15pm and although we had few big wins we kept our losses to a minimum before it was time again to board the coach at 6pm.
Thank you to Stephen who had this great idea for a distraction from the difficulties of a displaced life and made the arrangements for our tickets.
