A memorial for Jenny

Colleagues, friends and close family planted a Bramley apple tree in Motcombe Meadows as a memorial for Jenny Willoughby.

Jenny was the lead in Dorset Council for the United Nations Vulnerable People Resettlement programme that brought Syrian families to safety in Shaftesbury and Gillingham in 2017 and 2018.

It was at this time that our charity was first established. Jenny was a first point of contact for the Founding Trustees and often a first contact for the families. She was resourceful, strong, and kind with great integrity and intellect. We all learned a lot through her and without her support, and that of her colleagues at Dorset Council, we could not have become as helpful as we intended.

The Memorial was an opportunity to gather again and remember her life with words of thanks and love written on doves to decorate her tree.

We look forward to the tree taking root and growing strong and in years to come giving us the opportunity to make some Bramley and blackberry pies too.

We miss you Jenny!
