Somerset Coach Trip

Last weekend, our community came together for a wonderful trip to the Mendip Hills. For many, it was their first time exploring this stunning part of Somerset, and the joy of discovery was shared by all.

We began at the breathtaking Cheddar Gorge, before heading underground to the magical caves of Wookey Hole. The caves — beautifully lit and filled with history — sparked awe in both children and adults. From the cheese-maturing rooms to the unexpected delight of the circus, there was something for everyone. Crazy Golf and gold panning soon became firm favourites too!

After three hours (and more than a few ice creams!), we journeyed on to the Cathedral City of Wells. Bathed in sunshine, its ancient streets and magnificent cathedral left a lasting impression, scaffolding and all.

By the time we returned home at 7pm, there was a real sense of community spirit. The day was more than just a trip — it was a chance for friends, families, and newcomers alike to laugh, connect, and share a brief but welcome escape from life’s challenges.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters and the spirit of our volunteers, we were able to make this day affordable and accessible to all. Memories were made, friendships deepened, and a sense of belonging grew stronger.

Thanks to Wookey Hole for their welcome and to Vale Coaches for their reliable and comfortable transport.
