Reflective Arts Workshop
In the week of the very sad 4th anniversary of the escalation of the war against Ukraine we wanted to provide an opportunity for Ukrainian families to pause and reflect on their journey and consider their wishes for the future.
Led by Zara, a practising artist following a career in therapeutic Social work, family members made collages together in the warm and lively space of Shaftesbury Arts Centre.

The session was interrupted in a delightful way by Palida Choir who, from their rehearsal next door, came in to serenade the artists with Ukrainian songs.

Time went quickly as ideas and creativity flowed.
The art work was poignant and forward looking with wishes for a peaceful world in which adults and children can lead a full life.
Thank you to Julia and Zara who had brought this workshop into life, to Karen Wimhurst with Palida Choir and to Jamie Randall of Randall Photographs for his skills.
And finally it was good to see our support for young Ukrainians to have music lessons is already having great results.
